pa dutch country

Lancaster, PA
The PA Dutch country is truly lovely and a step back in time. After 3 days of rain, we finally got out into the countryside with my 4 pages of directions to various covered bridges. At the second bridge we located, I was just setting up my tripod to shoot the bridge when I hear clop, clop, clop clop. This lovely Amish lady dressed in black drove her horse drawn carriage through the covered bridge and turned in front of me. It really was like a step back in time to capture the scene. I almost forgot to snap the shutter!

Gettysburg, PA
October 16, 2008
We have safely landed outside Gettysburg PA on the first leg of our winter escape. The foliage in the Appalachian mountains is beautiful. Looking forward to re-visiting the Gettysburg battlefields and monuments this weekend.
