Florida migration complete

Walkover to Hanna Park Jacksonville FL

Jacksonville, Fl

10/28/08

We have arrived in Florida safely.  The temp last night dropped to 40 degrees but it has been sunny and breezy today.  We are camped in a jungle with amazing flora and fauna.  A short walk to the beach and a park lake are fun to see the sights.  The 400 acre park is filled with wonderful boardwalks to the beach and through the live oak canaopy.  The second pic is Brad cruising down one of the boardwalks.

Musket firing at Fort PulaskiSavannah

October 20, 2008

Tybee Island, Georgia

We are camped on Tybee Island about 12 miles east of Savannah.  The island is a wonderful mix of beach front and salt marshes.  We took the Trolley tour of the historic district of Savannah and loved it.  The visit to Fort Pulaski National Monument was very interesting and we watched a musket demonstration.  Lots of wonderful fresh seafood and not so great grits.

The next adventure

Gettysburg

Gettysburg, PA

October 16, 2008

We have safely landed outside Gettysburg PA on the first leg of our winter escape.  The foliage in the Appalachian mountains is beautiful.  Looking forward to re-visiting the Gettysburg battlefields and monuments this weekend.
